'Around the House' shower!

Here are a few pictures from my 'Around the House' shower this past weekend. Thanks to Abby and Ms. Natalie for being amazing hostesses; you both are so special to me! The colors of the shower were hot pink and green, the same as the wedding colors... it was beautiful! I had the best time hanging out and catching up with everyone. It is hard to believe the next time I will be home will be after I graduate! Wow, four years has flown by! There are more pictures to come from the shower soon...

He works hard for the money....

I can't believe how fast the house is coming along.... Jeff is working so hard to get it finished by the wedding! Great job Jeff!

Two months and counting!

I'm sure to our parents these pictures seem like the were taken yesterday! But.. their children are now grown and about to get married!! LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AWAY! Planning this wedding has been such a wonderful experience and has brought me closer to many special people, but I absolutely cannot wait to walk down that isle! I wish I could blink my eyes and it would be the Friday before our wedding! Well, I'm sure it will be here before we know it, considering the year we have been engaged has flown by! By the way, Jeff might be embarresed, but I love this picture of him! He's the same height as the pelican! Oh, and anyone who knows me knows not much has changed when it comes to me and chocolate.

Here are a few pictures from the "Honey do and Garden shower." Everyone from Jeff's work came to the Daigres where we ate, visited and opened gifts. We had a wonderful time, it was so nice of the Daigres to host a shower for us. I feel like I know so many people in Raleigh already. Here is the young crew, who I'm sure we'll be spending a lot of time with once I'm finally there in June!

I went to see Jeff this past weekend since I had Friday and Monday off from teaching. We had such an eventful weekend! We went to see the house which is so far along, not at all what I expected.. Jeff has done a wonderful job building our first home. Then we went to pick out appliances and things for the house. Sunday night we had a "Honey Do and Garden Shower" thown for us by the Daigres. (Thank you guys so much, it was so much fun!) I hated to leave Jeff but it was the LAST time we will ever have to say goodbye again! That means I won't see him again until the wedding...sad! I cannot wait to marry him and move to Raleigh! After six years it is about time we stop saying goodbye! Only about 2 months left, lots to do!

Planning, planning and more planning....

This spring break was quite different from my other ones in college, no beach, no cruise ship, no partying all night long (not that I did that anyway). I went home for a week and planned. I was kinda dreading it, but I actually had a great time. I got so much accomplished and I am much less stressed! My cake and my flowers are finalized, my invitations are stamped and ready to be mailed, and I took bridal portraits (along with doing a lot of other small detailed things). So bring on the big day, it can't come fast enough!! Also, spending a week with my wonderful family was good too, lots of mother/daughter bonding time. Also, I enjoyed relaxing and watching beautiful sunsets from the deck of our reception site, you can't beat the bay overlooking the Mobile skyline.

I Miss 4th Grade!

My supervising teacher, Mrs. Davis, gave me this canvas on my last day in her class. She had the whole class sign it then make me cards! It will be perfect hanging outside my very own room next year! It was the sweetest/saddest thing!! I did NOT want to leave this placement! But, all good things must come to an end, so now I am in kindergarten... what can I say about kindergarten? They are so much more dependent, they do not know how to raise their hand and wait patiently, they can't spell anything, they come out of the bathroom with their pants around their ankles... get the picture? I miss my fourth graders so much! Some people were born to teach certain ages, I am definitely an upper elementary person for sure!

Plan a trip!

http://www.visitraleigh.com/ ....Everyone needs to come visit us (All of the three people that read our blog!)

Our Dirt....

Well, great news... Jeff and I finally know where we will be living in a little more than 3 months. You are looking at our lot in Fuquay-Varina NC, where we will call home. Because Jeff is a Superintendent for Scenic Homes, he has the privilege/burden or building our first home. This is our lot in a quaint little neighborhood nestled in a wonderful small community in the suburbs of Raleigh. I cannot wait to call it home when we get back from the honeymoon! What a nice surprise it will be to walk into a new house that I've never seen! www.scenichomes.com

I love my roommate!! Today when I got home from a hard day of student-teaching (which is everyday!) I had gift waiting for me. My wonderful rooommate, Katie Brown, went out and bought me this Bible. It is a beautiful Bible, offering lots of advise on pre-wedding issues such as managing stress, going to God in prayer, and preparing for that big day. It quotes powerful scripture and really makes me stop and think about what this planning is really all about, the marriage! I can never be too prepared to be the wife God intends for me to be, and I know I have a long way to go. Jeff and I have been so blessed in so many ways and we try to give thanks to God every chance we get. Thanks Katie for such a thoughtful gift, I know it will really come in handy these next four months and for years to follow!

Want some wedding bliss laughs??

Check out this site, "Thegroomstruth.com" It is absolutely hillarious! The author is getting married soon and writes all about wedding planning festivities.

New Year's in Raleigh

I went to visit Jeff for a week over New Year's. It was our first New Year's Eve together in 5 years!! We had the best time. We went to an amazing restaurant with three other couples and ate a wonderful meal. After that we went and danced to a great band until it was time to watch the "Acorn Drop." We walked to downtown Raleigh and watched fireworks at midnight. It was by far the best New Year's I have ever had!
