Birthday

I haven't blogged in a while..... These are a few pictures from my birthday. I got home from work and Jeff had a table full of present and a cookie cake for me! Later that night we had some people over to grill out and celebrate the big 23. Thanks to everyone for the cards and birthday wishes. It was a special day!

Baseball

Jeff is volunteering with the local high school baseball team. They have their first scrimmage tonight. He has had such a great time because of his love for the game! He has so much knowledge and talent to offer and the coaches LOVE having him around!

The Mountains

Lindsey, my sister, and Will, my brother-in-law, came up to visit last weekend. They flew in Thursday and left Tuesday. We took off to the Blue Ridge mountains for the weekend and stayed in an awesome log cabin. We hiked in Linville Falls, went shopping in downtown Blowing Rock, and ate at the famous Canyons restaurant. We enjoyed the hot tub at the cabin with a beautiful view, even though it got into the teens during the night! We played games and enjoyed each other's company! Thanks for coming Lindsey and Will... we had a great time, as always and can't wait to go to Orlando with you guys in May!

Let It Snow!

We had 6 inches of snow in Raleigh today!! We were out of school and off work because of weather and made a day of it! We went sledding, had snowball fights, and played with Bear, Kate and Maddy. I am off tomorrow as well because the roads will still be icy but the snow is gone... for now. Being from the south this was the first time Jeff and I had experienced a "big" snow. We had a blast; Charlie loved it too!

Here are a few pictures from our New Year's Eve neighborhood party. We have a very fun group of people who use any excuse to get together and have a good time! We built a fire in the common area by the pond in the neighborhood, played darts and rang in the new year!! HAPPY 2009 EVERYONE!!!

My new year's resolution: Run a half Marathon and eat healthier.... just to name a few!
Now that we've posted it on the internet, we have to stick to it. My resolutions usually last a month at best..... we'll see!

Christmas

Here are a few pictures from our crazy family Christmas! We flew to Daphne and spent a few nights in Alabama for my family Christmas then drove to Mississippi for my extended family Christmas. It was our first Christmas together and was a blast! Jeff went fishing and we went four wheeler riding... what Mississippi is all about. Good food, family and good times!

While visiting Ft. Worth we went to see the play Uncle Duz Christmas, it was hillarious and the perfect thing to get us into the holiday spirit!

NHL Hockey

Last night I went to my first NHL hockey game. The Carolina Hurricanes played the Washington Capitols. Jeff and I got tickets from someone he works with and were 5 rows from the ice! It was a blast.... even though the Hurricanes lost.

Here are a few pictures of the last few weeks. Halloween was a blast. We had a class party and a cupcake decorating party the same day! On top of that, it was spirit week all week, hence the colored hair of some of my students. Jeff and Bear made a coffin and created a haunted house in Bear and Kate's garage Halloween night; it was the highlight of the neighborhood party! Jeff and I went as 1970's bride and groom! Friday, the day of track-out, we made slime in class... the students had a blast! Now I have 4 weeks off so I can run errands and catch up on blogging. :)

Yard Work

Today Jeff and I got the bright idea to work on our yard. We went to Home Depot and bought a few flowers. Here are some before and after pictures. BEFORE

We still have some work to do but we have added a little more color to the yard.

AFTER

Jeff and I bought a few new pictures this weekend and have been working on making our home even more "homey." We found two beach prints that we had to have because they reminded us of home. They are now on our living room wall. Also, we found one that matched the guest room perfectly, I liked it a little more that Jeff did but it's growing on him! So, little by little we are collecting things to decorate the still khaki walls.

Been a while...

Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to lately. Second chance prom was put on in Cary, NC by a local radio station. Jeff and I finally got a chance to go to prom together, along with 6 other couples that went with us and the thousands of people that were there! Jeff and I had a few friends over to grill out, watch college football and celebrate his 25h birthday! We also went to Madison's 3rd birthday party at a place called Pump-It-Up. They had a bunch of blow-up jumping things and as you can probably imagine, Jeff had more fun than all of the kids combined! We also had a relaxing day on the lake in Jeff's boat, he fished and I layed out.... it doesn't get much better than that!
