NC Fair

I had my first NC State fair experience last Wednesday night!! There was more food there than I ever imagined. I took friends' advice and got grilled corn, blooming onion, and you can't go to the fair and not get funnel cake (Jeff's idea). We did pass up a few unusual items, including fried butter, chocolate covered bacon and fried Oreos. We had a great time looking at all the livestock and watching Madyson (4) have the ultimate fair experience, complete with the fun house and a terrifying roller coaster. I definitely got my fill of fair to last the next few years!

We are going to the NC state fair tonight. I am so excited because I have never been. Bear, Kate, and Mady will be going with us! Can't wait to eat something deep fried! :)

Jeff's Triathlon!

Jeff and Bear completed their first "sprint" distance triathlon today! They had to Swim 500 M, Bike 15 miles and run 5K. They did great. Jeff was aiming to do it in 1:45 but ended up with 1:36 time, only 30 minutes behind the winner! I was so proud of him and had a great time watching it all happen on Lake Royale in Louisburg, NC with Kate and Mady. Maybe next time I'll join in the race festivities but I was content being the supportive wife today! Way To Go, Jeff!

Jeff got a new baby this week. Jeff's Dodge was about to die and he found this truck at a great deal and had to have it! He loves it and is so excited about having a dependable truck!

Football season!

Jeff and I went to the Carolina Panther's opening game last weekend! It was my first NFL game experience. It was so much fun but you really can't beat the College Football atmosphere!

Happy Birthday to Jeff!! August 30th Jeff celebrated his 26th Birthday! If you're wondering... he walked out of the house for a minute and I got out the cake to surprise him so I didn't have time to get all 26 candles on the cake and light them before he came back in. Oh well,

it's the thought that counts.

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Starkville! We got to see the Bulldogs win against Jackson State. It was great to see everyone and hopefully we'll get to go to a baseball game in Starkville this year!

Concerts!

The past few weeks we've had the privilege of seeing our two favorite bands in Raleigh, twice! Here are a few pictures of the Corey Smith and American Aquarium concerts; and even some pictures with me and some band members. :)

2nd grade!

I haven't blogged in forever! I don't even know where to start. I had one day off from school after I finished the year in 3rd grade then began the new year as a second grade teacher!! We have now been in school for a month and I am slowly but surely whipping them into shape. Wow, was it a tough transition for us all though. I absolutely could not have asked for a better first year. My students were AMAZING and I think they will always be my favorites!

Universal Studios

To celebrate one year of marriage, Jeff and I took a trip to Orlando, Florida with Lindsey (my sister) and Will (my brother-in-law). We spent the week at a resort on the site Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We have a great time even through it rained almost every day! We ate some wonderful restaurants, Margaritaville, NBA City, and Bubba Gump Shrimp, spend our days at the park, and saw Blue Man Group. Because we stayed on site we were able to take a ferry to all the parks, restaurants, and the City Walk. We also had express passes which put us at the front of every line. We rode rides until we couldn't stand up straight! Here are a few pictures from our vacation!

One Year Anniversary!!

I feel so blessed to have married such a wonderful man!! this has been the best, most eventful and fastest year of my life! Happy one year anniversary Jeff, I look forward to many more wonderful fun-filled years!

Shoot 'em up.

Today we drove to Fayetteville, NC to shoot a few guns; Jeff and Bear decided they wanted Kate and I to practice. We had a great time shooting at targets and skeet. Madison had a great time too.... building sand castles. A few country people coping with city life. : )

Morganton, NC

This past weekend we drove to Morganton, NC to watch Sarah play a golf tournament. We went hiking, enjoyed downtown, and watched lots of golf. It was a great trip and great to see the family! We always have a great time together!

Raleigh Rocks Half-Marathon and 5K

CONGRATS to Jeff!! He ran his first half-marathon in downtown Raleigh 2 weeks ago. He has already achieved his new year's resolution! WAY TO GO!

Caitlin came in town and we both ran the 5K. We had awesome time hanging out and enjoying Raleigh. Thanks for coming Caitlin, love you!

Birthday

I haven't blogged in a while..... These are a few pictures from my birthday. I got home from work and Jeff had a table full of present and a cookie cake for me! Later that night we had some people over to grill out and celebrate the big 23. Thanks to everyone for the cards and birthday wishes. It was a special day!

Baseball

Jeff is volunteering with the local high school baseball team. They have their first scrimmage tonight. He has had such a great time because of his love for the game! He has so much knowledge and talent to offer and the coaches LOVE having him around!
