Christmas in Atlanta!

Sarah making German Chocolate Cake icing..... yum!!

These bells were down the street from the Hark Rock Cafe.... They reminded me of the Polar Express Bells!

Cute family photo in front of the huge Christmas tree downtown.

We were planning to ice skate in downtown Atlanta but there were tons of people there and the ice looked like a snow cone; instead we walked around downtown, enjoying the beautiful winter weather, sites, CNN building and a wonderful meal at the Hard Rock.

Below: Sarah read the Christmas story from a family Bible before we opened presents on Christmas Eve. Afterwards we went to a Christmas Eve candle light service at Jeff's parent's church.

Thanks for my TOMS Sarah!! I love them.. what a thoughtful gift!

Mrs. Liz was so sweet.... she made me my own stocking to match the ones Jeff and Sarah have that were made by Jeff's great-grandmother!! I am so blessed to have such wonderful, caring, and fun in-laws!! Thank you guys for a great Christmas, we wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way!

Thanksgiving

We have been so busy traveling this holiday season! Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving. We enjoyed wonderful food, fun, games, and our annual ornament exchange.

Early Christmas Present!!!

When we got home from taking Jeff's parents to the airport Jeff said he had an early Christmas present for me. I tried to convince him to wait to give to me for Christmas but he couldn't stand it anymore. So he brought out small wrapped packages and I opened them one at a time. A flash, batteries, lenses, chargers, until finally came the big box....... I opened it and immediately started crying! It was a Nikon D5000, the one on the commercial with Ashton Kutcher! I was so surprised and excited. I have been wanting a Nikon for a while now but wasn't willing to spend the money (I have such buyers anxiety). What a wonderful early Christmas present! I played with it all night last night learning all of the cool things it can do, I still have A LOT to discover. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Jeff, I am the luckiest wife in the world!

Parents' Visit

My parents came to visit 2 weekends ago and Jeff's parents were here last weekend. We had an awesome time and it was so great to see family.

My Parents visit:

Mom and I put up the Christmas tree! I thought since she was here I would take advantage of it. I have been begging to put up the tree since halloween so now it's up. At first Jeff thought it was too early but once he saw the house decorated, he was happy to be in the Christmas spirit. I have to keep reminding myself that Thanksgiving has not come yet! : ) Jeff and my dad spent time together fishing in the pond in our neighborhood. We also went shopping and enjoyed restuarants in downtown Varina. I had a great time with you Mom and Dad, thanks for coming and I look forward to seeing you Thanksgiving!

Jeff's Parent Visit:

We spent time with Jeff's parents last weekend. We enjoyed a day of college football, grilling burgers and spending time outdoors. We went to Umstead State Park to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and fall foliage. Thanks for coming and we look forward to seeing you guys Christmas!

Haunted House

The haunted garage was a great success! We laughed all night as people had to be convinced to go inside and few seconds later ran out screaming for their lives. I wish we had it all on video! The boys had a great time scaring people as I played the hostess who led people inside. Madyson was a cute little cat who held the hands of little kids who were too scared to go in, unless she went with them. Since she saw the whole thing being put together and knew the boys inside, she wasn't the least bit scared. She spent the whole night saying, "It's not nice for daddy to scare these people." She is so precious! We all had a great time together and look forward to next year!

Halloween

Here are a few pictures of Jeff and Bear setting up Bear and Kate's garage for the trick-or-treating haunted house. Kate, Mady and I enjoyed caramel apples and pumpkin carving.

NC Fair

I had my first NC State fair experience last Wednesday night!! There was more food there than I ever imagined. I took friends' advice and got grilled corn, blooming onion, and you can't go to the fair and not get funnel cake (Jeff's idea). We did pass up a few unusual items, including fried butter, chocolate covered bacon and fried Oreos. We had a great time looking at all the livestock and watching Madyson (4) have the ultimate fair experience, complete with the fun house and a terrifying roller coaster. I definitely got my fill of fair to last the next few years!
