Christmas
Here are a few pictures from our crazy family Christmas! We flew to Daphne and spent a few nights in Alabama for my family Christmas then drove to Mississippi for my extended family Christmas. It was our first Christmas together and was a blast! Jeff went fishing and we went four wheeler riding... what Mississippi is all about. Good food, family and good times!

Christmas Time
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!! Even though we've had the tree up for three weeks it's just now really feeling like the holidays! Here are a few pictures of our first Christmas season together.
Thanksgiving in Lampasas, TX
Jeff and I spent this Thanksgiving in Lampasas. We had a great time hunting, visiting, shopping, relaxing and more hunting.

NHL Hockey
Last night I went to my first NHL hockey game. The Carolina Hurricanes played the Washington Capitols. Jeff and I got tickets from someone he works with and were 5 rows from the ice! It was a blast.... even though the Hurricanes lost.
Here are a few pictures of the last few weeks. Halloween was a blast. We had a class party and a cupcake decorating party the same day! On top of that, it was spirit week all week, hence the colored hair of some of my students. Jeff and Bear made a coffin and created a haunted house in Bear and Kate's garage Halloween night; it was the highlight of the neighborhood party! Jeff and I went as 1970's bride and groom! Friday, the day of track-out, we made slime in class... the students had a blast! Now I have 4 weeks off so I can run errands and catch up on blogging. :)

Yard Work
Today Jeff and I got the bright idea to work on our yard. We went to Home Depot and bought a few flowers. Here are some before and after pictures. BEFORE
We still have some work to do but we have added a little more color to the yard.
AFTER
Sunday, September 28, 2008
Jeff and I bought a few new pictures this weekend and have been working on making our home even more "homey." We found two beach prints that we had to have because they reminded us of home. They are now on our living room wall. Also, we found one that matched the guest room perfectly, I liked it a little more that Jeff did but it's growing on him! So, little by little we are collecting things to decorate the still khaki walls.
Been a while...
Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to lately. Second chance prom was put on in Cary, NC by a local radio station. Jeff and I finally got a chance to go to prom together, along with 6 other couples that went with us and the thousands of people that were there! Jeff and I had a few friends over to grill out, watch college football and celebrate his 25h birthday! We also went to Madison's 3rd birthday party at a place called Pump-It-Up. They had a bunch of blow-up jumping things and as you can probably imagine, Jeff had more fun than all of the kids combined! We also had a relaxing day on the lake in Jeff's boat, he fished and I layed out.... it doesn't get much better than that!

My Classroom
Here are a few pictures of my first classroom. I have one more week of teaching then a 3 week break! I can't wait to fly home to visit my family. After the break I will "track-in" to a different classroom and a teacher who is out now will be in my classroom. I am interested in seeing how this year-round thing is going to be, so far I love it because I'm already ready for a break! I will spend Friday afternoon moving my stuff (in a rolling cabinet) to our "track-out" room. Jeff has so kindly volunteered to come help me move. I wanted to take a few pictures of my first classroom before I moved into a new one.

Our Yard
Jeff worked so hard Friday afternoon and Saturday morning on the yard! We laid stones around all of the flower beds and took out pine straw and put in mulch for the flower beds. It is looking so good although we're not through with it either... I am beginning to realize we will never be through with yard and house work. We might as well have fun doing it then, right?
Finally.. house pictures!
Here are some pictures of our house, finally. It's hard to believe we've been in it for almost 3 months! We are having a great time fixing it up but still have a long ways to go. Luckily, we have the same taste so it makes it much easier. Jeff spent this past weekend working in the yard, I helped as much as I could (pics coming), and using his handy building skills to build a kitchen table and chairs (not pictured). He did an awesome job! Back to work for another week, only two weeks and I have a three week break. I am flying home to see my family for 10 days and I am so excited to spend time with them since I haven't seen them since we got back from the honeymoon!

I have a job!!
I had an interview Wednesday afternoon and I got a phone call Thursday afternoon from the Principal of Willow Springs Elementary school. She offered me the third grade teaching position ! It is a year-round school which basically means I will teach 9 weeks then have a 3 week break. Orientation for teachers starts July 1st and school starts July 7th. I am so excited about having my own classroom and I have SO much to do before the school year starts!

Morgan and Josh's wedding weekend
This weekend was filled with wedding events. Jeff and I flew to Memphis Thursday night and spent the night with Saunders and Jordan. We all drove to Tupelo Friday for Morgan and Josh's wedding. We ran errands and ate lunch Friday afternoon then went to the hotel to get ready for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal dinner was beautiful, with touches of maroon and white around the room, to no ones surprise. Saturday we went to the bridal brunch at the Bistro on Main Street. The wedding was at 6 o'clock that night and was such a sweet ceremony. The reception was a blast.... everyone danced all night to a great band! Jeff and I had a wonderful time hanging out with all of our friends and celebrating the marriage of Morgan and Josh! We love you guys! Thanks to Jordan and Saunders for letting us stay and carting us around all weekend, Jeff and I loved hanging out with you both!

Honeymoon in Antigua!
Here are a few pictures from the honeymoon! We stayed at a Sandals resort in Antigua. It was definitely the most amazing and relaxing week! The service was wonderful, we felt like royalty the entire time. The food and drinks were delicious and of coarse the best part is that it was all-inclusive. Jeff and I will definitely be going back to a Sandals resort in the future. During the week we did a lot of laying out and relaxing, and managed to mix in massages, kayaking and snorkeling. Anyone planning a honeymoon... I highly recommend it.

Our Wedding!!
I can finally change the Blog name!! These past two weeks have been such a whirlwind. The week leading up to the wedding seemed to take forever, then before I knew it was our wedding day! I had the time of my life that day and hope everyone else had a great time too! Saturday night after the reception, Jeff and I drove to New Orleans to spend the night. We were at the airport at 4:30 the next morning. We spent ALL DAY traveling, literally from 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM. We were so happy to finally be in Antigua, which was absolutely breathtaking (pictures coming soon). Then we got back in town Friday night, spent the night at my parents' house and loaded up the UHAUL the next morning. We left around lunch and spent Saturday night in Atlanta with Jeff's family. We woke up early the next morning and spend 8 hours on the road (in separate cars... boring!) I FINALLY got to see our new house at 5:00! I love it!! We have been getting settled in the past few days and still have a lot to do. It has been such an eventful and amazing two weeks!

It's finished (almost)
The house is finished, I can't believe it! All that's left are a few details on the outside. Jeff will move in next weekend and everyone needs to plan a trip to visit ASAP! And... 3 weeks from today is our wedding - yikes, so much to do! :)

'Around the House' shower!
Here are a few pictures from my 'Around the House' shower this past weekend. Thanks to Abby and Ms. Natalie for being amazing hostesses; you both are so special to me! The colors of the shower were hot pink and green, the same as the wedding colors... it was beautiful! I had the best time hanging out and catching up with everyone. It is hard to believe the next time I will be home will be after I graduate! Wow, four years has flown by! There are more pictures to come from the shower soon...
